Advocates Coalition for Development and Environment (ACODE) is an Independent Public Policy Research and Advocacy Think Tank. With headquarters in the heart of Uganda’s capital, Kampala, ACODE is one of the regional leaders in cutting-age public policy research and analysis in a range of areas including governance, trade, environment, and science and technology. ACODE’s Board of Trustees, the policy making organ of the Organization is comprised of eminent scholars, policy makers and practitioners from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. ACODE’s research team is a unique blend of multi-disciplinary professionals with specialized expertise in cutting age policy research, advocacy and monitoring of public policy.
  
To influence development and governance policies for the promotion of social justice in Eastern Africa through independent policy research and advocacy.
Through research, we help governments and international development organizations expand the range of policy options available to confront challenging and controversial public policy problems. Through advocacy, we contribute to formulation of policies that support sustainable development thereby expanding livelihood and income options for poor people. Through representation, we empower communities to demand for justice and promote public participation in decisions making processes that affect rural livelihoods and the environment.
